Workwear for mechanics and garages
In a garage, clothing touches two things all day: grease and the customer's car. The first calls for a fabric that can be washed hot, often, without losing its shape. The second imposes a rule other trades do not have: nothing hard on the outside of the garment, because you lean over a painted wing all day long.
The rest depends on the job. At reception, a clean polo with the garage logo. Under the lift, a coverall or trousers and a jacket that accept being stained for good: engine oil never comes out completely, and a mechanic's outfit is judged after months of washing, not when it comes out of the box.
From €7.76 excl. VAT per piece · marking from €12.00 · from a single piece · workshop in Liège
What the trade demands of the garment
Nothing metal on the outside
A jeans button, a belt buckle, a pocket rivet or a zip puller is enough to scratch paintwork when you lean over a wing or rest against a door. Garage workwear is chosen with covered buttons, zips under a flap and an elasticated waist rather than a belt. Look at the pockets too: a tool sticking out at the thigh scratches as much as a rivet.
Oil does not come out, it builds up
Engine oil, grease, brake fluid, fuel: these stains set in the fibre, and a 40 °C wash does not shift them. You need a fabric that copes with repeated hot washing — a poly-cotton of a decent weight rather than a thin cotton — and a colour that ages well: dark grey, navy and black stay presentable once stained. A garment soaked in oil or fuel also catches fire more easily: a saturated outfit is washed or replaced, not kept “for the dirty jobs”.
Coverall or two-piece: it depends on the job
A coverall closes everything off: no jacket hem trailing over a wing, no bare back when you lean into an engine bay. On the other hand, it is warm in summer and has to be changed entirely for a single stain. Trousers and jacket are replaced separately — the trousers wear out first — and the jacket comes off to go to the counter. When the same person moves between the lift and reception, a two-piece worn over a polo is the most practical.
The outfit, piece by piece
What companies in the trade order most often. Nothing obliges you to take it all: the minimum order is one piece.
Standards that may apply
We certify nothing: we report what the manufacturer declares, and we apply the marking without compromising that declaration.
EN ISO 15797 — The piece withstands an industrial laundry cycle — high temperature, tunnel drying — without losing its characteristics. The marking must follow the same regime: tell us if your uniforms go to an industrial laundry, and we choose the application accordingly.
Which marking for mechanic workwear
On a coverall or a workshop jacket, we recommend embroidery for the chest logo: the thread is stitched into the fabric, it copes with repeated hot washing and industrial laundering, and it adds nothing hard that could scratch bodywork. DTF transfer keeps its place for a large design on the back and for the mechanic's first name, different on every piece without the price changing. One reservation applies to both techniques: a marking rubbed every day with degreaser or brake cleaner ends up damaged. So we place it on the chest and on the back, not on a sleeve or a thigh that doubles as a rag.
Recommended technique: Embroidery, from €12.00 per piece. Digitising €30 for a small placement, €50 for a large one — once only. See the full price list

Frequently asked questions
Coverall or trousers and jacket for a mechanic?
A coverall protects the car and the back better: nothing sticks out, nothing rides up. A two-piece is more flexible: the trousers, which wear out first, are replaced on their own, and the jacket comes off when it is hot or when you need to go to the counter. Nothing stops you having both marked with the same logo; the minimum order is one piece.
Does the logo survive the repeated washing of garage workwear?
Embroidery does: the thread is stitched, it does not peel off, and it is the marking we recommend for workwear washed hot every week or sent to an industrial laundry. DTF transfer is designed for domestic washing at 40 °C. If your workwear goes to a rental laundry service, tell us before ordering: we choose the technique accordingly.
Can each mechanic's first name be added?
Yes. Personal names are done as a DTF transfer: the name changes from one piece to the next without the price changing. The logical combination on garage workwear is therefore an embroidered logo on the chest and a first name in DTF underneath or on the other side.
